Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog

When I saw the new challenge on Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog, use a star and create an Independence day project, I knew immediately which project I would submit. Independence Day to me has always been a celebration of being proud to be an American and something I took seriously but now, this year, those feelings of patriotism are stronger than ever and not just on the Fourth of July but everyday. When you become a military family and your children serve their country, you don't take for granted one single second what our freedom means and what it takes to protect it. The young men and women who serve our Country are the greatest heros any of us could ever admire. Thank you Amanda, Thank you Jonathon and thank you to all the men and women of our military! Love, a proud Army Mom...

Butterfly cards

Some of my favorite stamp sets and elements are butterflies and I have made a few cards using these. Here are the ones I like the most. Hope you enjoy them.
Only a few more days and we will move and I can get out all my crafting stuff and play again! Cannot wait...I have a lot to do!

Summer time is for flip-flops.

One of the things I love so much about my Big Shot is that different materials that can be cut with it besides paper. I never thought owning a cricut I would need the Big Shot too but guess what, I do and I can justify it!

Anyway the possibilites for decorating flip-flops are endless! Here are just a few of my samples. My younger daughter lives in these things against my motherly advice as I don't think they are good for her feet but if she is going to wear them, they might as well be cute!

I just came across another idea to attach the embellishment to the flipflop too! Velcro so you can interchange the embellishment to match your outfit! Now that is ingenious!

Well oops, that wasn't a flip flop but another cake box favor I found on Etsy...so cute though and Minnie! At least it matches the flip flops though so can I get points for that? I selected the wrong picture!!

Past projects

I will just be adding some of my past projects in the next couple of weeks because we have to move! We are not happy about it but they are selling the house we are in (we rent). We found another house in the same area (thank goodness because we really like it here) but we will be moving July 1st so we are packing up quick..

Anyway, had a great time Saturday with 11 ladies in attendance for my workshop. We made six cards and the BBQ grill gift card boxes. They had a great time, we had a great lunch "bar" set up by my wonderful chef husband. Cannot wait to stamp and create with my ladies again!

Anyway, one of my favorite creations were making these Sesame Street invitations. I use a combination of my Big Shot and my cricut to make all the shapes. If you look closely, Sesame Street Muppets are nothing more than a bunch of shapes to form their facial features. After we created Cookie Monster, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, and Big Bird, we decided to get a little more challenged and figure out Abby Cadabby. (I love to say her name and she is so adorable). She was after my years and even after my kids' years of watching Sesame Street but I love her! So cute right? They are post-card style invitations so one side is the face and the other is the invite information. You can find them on my Etsy store for sale along with Sesame Street Centerpieces and Sesame Street cupcake toppers at:

Last edition to bridal week...

Sorry should have posted this yesterday but it was actually today when I finished so I figured I would get to it at some point...

I love the purse gift box so much I used bridal paper to make one to be used as a gift to the bride, favor boxes at the wedding shower, a gift from the bride to her bridesmaids; the possibilities are endless but I LOVE the bridal paper. Add a little tissue paper and its perfect!

It would also be perfect as favors for a young ladies Sweet 16 birthday. We had a tea party when our oldest Amanda turned 16 (she is now 22 and in the Army!) but it was a lot of fun getting dressed up and having a fancy lunch that we did right in our home.

Wedding week continued with invitations..

My niece is getting married next February and she has decided she would like make her wedding invitations with my help. I am very honored she asked so we have been working on samples. Her colors are purple (deep royal purple) and silver. Here are a few of the styles and samples I came up with so far. I think we are leaning towards the daisies as she found her bridal bouquets with purple daisies that she has fallen in love with!

Found the greatest giveaway:

If you would like to enter, click on the button with the Independence Day cartige in my right hand column and it will take you to their giveway page and you can join as a follower to enter to win! Not really a wedding project

I was trying to keep to the wedding theme all week but I got the instructions for this adorable little purse card box and had to make it last night so here it is. Then I thought, well maybe it could be a wedding thing...It would make adorable favors for the bridal party at the shower, It it big enough to add a few trinkets or gift card. It could be done as favors for a baby shower and made into a diaper bag, a gift for your BFF girlfriend. I am going to make a set of matching generic cards to go in this one as a gift for my hostesses. I will make and add pictures of more as I become creative with ideas for it..

Continuing with June is for weddings....bridal week..

So I have recently been making lots of bridal things to sell in my Etsy Store. I have made some invitations and since we are a Disney family with my husband being a chef there and my daugther working at Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom I had to make some Disney related wedding things. What is more romantic than a fairy tale wedding right? It paid off because the creator of the Disney Wedding Blog contacted me and asked me if she could use my Disney wedding invitations as a giveway on her blog! Of course I said yes, we are doing $50 gift certificate towards the purchase of a set of these invitations. The picture does not do this card justice and as you can imagine, it is very labor intensive layering all the pieces with them being one color but the paper is ivory pearl paper and it is so elegant for weddings. I had the beautiful fairy tale stamp set so incorporated the gold but could also do silver.

Summer fun popsicle cards

This is one of the cards we will be making at my workshop on June 19th. Aren't they cute and bright and summery? We are actually making them as birthday cards, not invitations. The inside sentiment says wishing you the sweetest day ever!

Father's Day grillin gift box

This is the cutest thing ever! I found this on another demontrator's website and I bought the instructions to make the grill from her. I was so surprised how easy it was to make. Her instructions were very easy to follow. Anyway, isn't it just too cute?
The grill lid opens and its the perfect size for a gift card from Wal-Mart, Home Depot, or any other favorite dad store! I used a pattern I bought to make the grill card box but I used a combination of imagination, and my CRICUT George cartridge to make shapes like the hamburgers and the plate, wheels on the back of the grill, etc..
At my workshop on June 19th, I am going to try to have enough made for each of my guests to take home for Father's Day June 20th. Want to join us? Visit my Stampin Up link on the right side and send me a message letting me know you will be there!

Craft Room Organization

So I have been trying to get my craft room completely organized so I can put my hands on everything I have and/or need at any time. I am getting there but I have to share my favorite new organization tool. I saw this in one of the crafting magazines a few months ago and then kind of forgot about it but tonight in Wal-Mart I spend my $8 for this great new addition to my craft room organization! Are you impressed? I think it is wonderful. No more digging through the drawer to find the right punch, I can see them all clearly by shape and go right to the ones I want to use! Only problem: One is not enough so I need a second one but since my craft room has double french doors I can do two with no problems. A simple clear plastic over the door shoe organizer...who knew???

I won blog candy...

So I was participating in the OWH blog hop over the weekend to learn more about Operation Write Home and to get some inspiration to see what types of cards the other ladies are making for this great cause. I am very new to the whole blog thing but blog hopping is where you visit blog after blog, and each one links you to the next so you don't have to go back to a list and pick the next one. It was fun to do but anyway along the way some of the blog ladies had giveaways on their blogs and a giveaway on a blog is called "blog candy" All they really required you to do was leave a comment about their card or creation and of course I left as many as I could. Today I found out I won a blog candy from one of the blogs and this adorable stamp is on its way to me...that simple...I really liked this one a lot so I was very happy. I never win anything (I know everyone says that) but I don't...so I will take it and thank you Brenda!!

This is the blog I won from:
